The weblog began slowly, rose to a peak, and then abruptly ended, all during the fairly steady progress of the of my online journal, out of which it grew, and to which it ultimately returned.
I have come to see that weblogs and journals, while not entirely the same, occupy much the same territory in terms of purpose, so there is no need for both. The weblog easily satisfied my urge to babble about trivial matters, passing obsessions, and current events, and to interact with others, but the journal fills a deeper need to explore myself and discuss things seriously. I am often tempted to revive the weblog, but I stand by my decision not to.
The weblog's existence is not as well documented as are the other sites, probably because the content usually traveled directly from script to server, without bypassing my harddrive, and all I have left, for the most part, are templates and simulated text. But here is what I can reconstruct, just without the dates.
